VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. (WIAT) — Two people are behind bars on credit card fraud charges. The suspects are from Detroit, Michigan, but many of their victims are from our area.
Investigators say Damon Haneline and Duvuan Holliday-Seegars were in possession of 177 stolen identities from more than 25 banks. Prosecutors charged them with Trafficking Stolen Identities.
They are in the Jefferson County Jail with no bond.
The investigation was a joint venture between District Attorney Brandon Falls, the U.S. Secret Service, the Jefferson County Regional Financial Crimes Task Force and Vestavia Hills Police.
Investigators say Regions Bank’s dedication to the fight against card fraud made it possible to make an arrest in this case.
