Internet speeds hitting all-time high

(WIAT) — According to speed-test’s latest report, internet speeds have hit an all-time high. The speeds are averaging 42% faster than last year. Average download speeds for broadband users exceeded 50Mbps this year.

Speed-test looked at tens of millions of performance tests and here is what they found: X-finity had the fastest downloading speeds, but Verizon had the fastest uploading speeds.

The FCC says internet is still much slower if you live in rural areas and 39% internet speeds still do not meet the target speed that would be recommended for streaming HD video.
