PELL CITY, Ala. (WIAT) — A man is back in jail again after Pell City Police Chief Greg Turley says he bonded out of jail on two unrelated felony charges, only to steal a vehicle with a child inside.
According to Turley, 38-year-old Jeremy Ross Dawson had just bonded out of jail and was reporting to community corrections when he ran to a downtown gas station and stole the car.
St. CLair County Deputy Michael Bradberry saw the commotion and pursued the vehicle. Turley says Dawson attempted to flee, but was apprehended quickly with no injuries to anyone. Dawson was arrested and charged with kidnapping and theft in the first degree.
