BIBB COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — ATV riders located a wrecked car at the bottom of a ravine on Sunday afternoon, then, hours later found a badly decomposed body about 700 feet from the vehicle, according to Bibb County Sheriffs.
The ravine is located on hunting property near West Blocton. The riders called Bibb County, and they found the body at around 10:30 p.m.
The vehicle is registered to a former Bibb County resident that now lives in Kentucky, according to Deputy Kevin Lawrence. The department believes that the driver of the vehicle walked away from the wreck before collapsing and dying.
The state believes that it will take between three and four months to get a positive identification, and that the body was not burned, just decomposed.
