Etowah County Coroner pleads guilty to felony counts of theft of property

ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — The county coroner pled guilty on Wednesday to felony counts of theft of property.

The Sheriff’s Office says they began an investigation after a family reported seeing Michael Head take prescription medication out of the home of a deceased person he was called to.

Investigators searched Head’s office at the courthouse and his home in Gadsden. Head’s son, John, was at the house at the time. He was arrested for possession as well.

Michael Head is sentenced to prison for 2 years and 7 months.
