1 dead, 1 seriously injured in Adger head-on crash

ADGER, Ala. (WIAT) — One person is dead and another is seriously injured after a head-on collision, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputy Sgt. Jack Self says.

The crash happened after 5 p.m. Tuesday in the 5300 block of Mud Creek Road near John’s Cut-Off Road.

A Nissan 300ZX and an Acura were involved in the collision: the vehicles were traveling in opposite directions when one car crossed the centerline, colliding with the other.

The driver of the Nissan was critically injured and pronounced dead at the scene. A male passenger was seriously injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the Acura was the lone occupant, and had minor injuries.

The identification of the deceased victim has not been released pending notification of family.
