ADPH: Total Zika cases in Alabama rises to 25

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — According to the State Health Department, there are more cases of Zika in Alabama.

Right now, there are a total of 25 travel-related cases in 16 counties. Here in our area, the disease has been detected in Calhoun, Cullman, Etowah, Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, Talladega, and Tuscaloosa counties. The health department reminds says the best way to protect yourself from the Zika virus is to avoid traveling to Zika infected areas, which includes south Florida.
