BATON ROUGE, La. (WIAT) — Rain continues to come down south of Baton Rouge–a concerning sight for thousands who are currently surviving the flood waters and inconsistent rains in this area.

Residents have been rescuing neighbors and loved ones by boat all day.

Roads are still closed. One lady said that she was stranded on the interstate for 32 hours.

The American Red Cross is on hand, including representatives from Alabama who are providing meals for the flood victims.

We spoke to one representative by phone, Michael Kao who is from Birmingham. He said he is serving a constant flow of people, and it’s only getting busier by the hour.

Flood waters continue to rise and the rain is no consolation for residents who are concerned about returning to their homes.
