Vote to allocate $3 million for Kingston fire station deadlocks; motion fails

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — A vote to allocate three million dollars for a Kingston fire station did not pass today. The vote was deadlocked 4-4 and the motion failed.

Residents from Kingston very upset with the decision, saying it is necessity and lives are depending on it. Residents say there have been three fire within the last day, and they claim yesterday’s response time was slow.

Councilor Parker hopes the issue will be discussed this Friday when they discuss the budget, and the topic will be brought up again the next city council meeting.
