JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies are looking for a sex offender, and they need your help to see if you can help them locate the man.
Dennison Jones gained sex offender status after being convicted of a crime that happened in St. Clair County.
Jones last registered an address on Montclair Road in Birmingham, and though he was supposed to re-register his address in July, he never did.
Deputies believe that Jones could be living in Tuscaloosa County, but has not informed the Jefferson County Sheriff Office.
“The very essence of the sex offender law is that no sex offender, regardless if there are from out of state or out of county, can run from one county and hide from another county,” said Mike Hale, Jefferson County Sheriff.
The department is asking that if you see him, you call the Jefferson County Sexual Predator Hotline at (205) 325-4779.
