BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — An air quality alert has been issued for Jefferson and Shelby counties for Wednesday, the Alabama Partners for Clean Air organization says.
The air quality alert issued is a code orange for ozone.
Actions you can take on alert days include:
- Carpool or take public transportation
- Combine errands into one trip
- Limit idling by avoiding drive-throughs
- Mow the lawn another day
- Don’t burn leaves/trash
- Wait to fill gas tank until after 6 p.m.
