Brock Turner arrives in Greene County Sheriff’s Office to register as sex offender

XENIA, Ohio (WDTN) – Former Stanford swimmer and Oakwood native Brock Turner has arrived at the Greene County Sheriff’s Office to register as a sex offender.

Turner was convicted of sexual assault and is required to register as a part of his sentencing.

He returned to Ohio after his release from a California jail on Friday.

Turner was convicted on three felony counts after sexually assaulting unconscious woman in 2015.

He served three months of a six-month sentence, before being released on Friday.

Turner will also serve three years of supervised probation, and he’s required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

His family currently lives in Sugarcreek Township.

Turner’s six-month sentence set off a firestorm of national criticism, with many people claiming the sentence was too lenient. There have been calls for the judge in the case, Aaron Persky, to resign, and there have been protests both in California and outside Turner’s family home in the wake of the verdict.
