PELHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Now that Labor Day is over, the holidays are right around the corner. One organization with a mission is looking to stock up for those in need.
Oak Mountain Missions Ministry in Pelham has a whole warehouse full of necessities for victims of domestic violence and others who may have fallen down on their luck. They provide clothing, food and even furniture.
All volunteer based, it takes several people to organize, distribute and collect items that are all donated to the cause.
With the holidays approaching, certain items are needed. Items like canned goods for holiday meals, peanut butter and jelly, bedding and sheets.
Diane Cesario says that the people who benefit from other’s kindness are appreciative. If you would like to donate to Oak Mountain Missions, they are open Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Cesario says giving doesn’t have to be in bulk. Even one can of food at a time is needed.
A yearly Harvest of Hope Luncheon is their only fundraiser a year to keep the doors open. This year the luncheon is scheduled for September 13 at The Club.
