Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox seeking fourth term

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — Tuscaloosa mayor Walt Maddox announced Tuesday he is seeking a fourth term in office.

Maddox made the announcement on a video posted to his website. He is currently serving his third term as mayor. Maddox was first elected in 2005 and re-elected in 2009 and in 2013.

Community activist Stepfon Lewis also announced he is running for mayor of Tuscaloosa on Monday.

Candidate qualifying begins January 10th of next year. The Tuscaloosa municipal election is scheduled for March 7th.
