TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — A Tuscaloosa County family is offering a $9,000 reward to help find their loved one: Emmett Kyzer, 82, who has been missing for 66 days.
The family still has no leads on his disappearance, but in the meantime, they are trying to find a forever home for his dog, Spud.
The family says Kyzer and Spud, a one-year-old bulldog mix, were inseparable before he went missing.
Now, a rescue group is stepping in to help Spud while authorities are working to find Kyzer and bring the family closure.
“Obviously, you want to bring those to justice who are responsible for it, and also for the family,” said Josh Hastings with the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office. “You want to bring closure to the family. This has been a long ordeal for them, and the sooner you can bring them closure obviously the better.”
If you’d like to adopt Spud, you can call Darlene Richardson with Cans for Critters at 262-623-7154.
