National headlines on this Sunday morning

(WIAT)– Four people have died in a bus crash in North Carolina. The bus was carrying a group of college football players when it slammed into an overpass yesterday afternoon. Forty two other people were injured.

Colonial Pipeline says it is beginning to build a temporary pipeline that will bypass the leaking section in Shelby County. Some gas stations are warning of fuel shortages.

Pope Francis is encouraging Europeans to welcome refugees from around the world. He spoke to a group yesterday in Europe. This comes after the Syrian refugee crisis continues.

Authorities continue to investigate a large explosion that injured 29 people in New York City overnight. NYC Mayor Bill De Blasio, says right now, this is believed to have been an intentional act.

Local and federal agents are investigating an explosion in New Jersey. Police say an explosive device was placed inside a trash can along the race route for a Marine Corps charity run. No runners were nearby when the explosion happened. A second device was also reportedly found and bomb sniffing dogs continue to search for more.

The Navy is launching a new warship. The future USS Wichita was launched yesterday in Wisconsin. The ship is designed to operate close to shorelines.

Two children in Arkansas are missing, after taking their grandmother’s car. The Benton County sheriff’s office says 12 year old Vivian Head and 9 year old Brady Merworth, left either late Thursday night or early Friday morning. The sheriff’s office is looking for a white 2002 Acura RL.
