Missing high school student found

HOMEWOOD, Ala. (WIAT) — UPDATE: Sarah Parker Alexander was located Wednesday evening and safely returned to her parents.

ORIGINAL: Homewood Police are looking for a Homewood High School student whom they believe has runaway from her parents, according to a release from the department.

Sara Parker Alexander reportedly left Homewood High School on Monday just before 8 a.m. after being dropped off by her father. The release states that Sara was seen on school cameras wearing a red plaid shirt, black leggings, black shoes, and a backpack.

According to the release, Alexander’s backpack was found by an Alabama Power employee on Tuesday at their gate near the road by the rear exit of the high school.

Alexander is a white female standing approximately 5’5″ at 180 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair.

Police are asking anyone that has seen Alexander, or who may have any information on Sara’s whereabouts to contact the Homewood Police Department at (205) 332-6200.
