BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) –Two dogs were saved from a house fire on Foxwood Trail. The fire started around 10 o’clock Tuesday morning. The homeowner tells CBS 42 he and wife were at work at the time.
Neighbor Wes Presley said he jumped into action when he saw the fire from his house. He broke a window and went in because he was concerned that people might be inside.
“I found one the two dogs, put it outside, went upstairs, looked upstairs didn’t see anything else,” said Presley.
Presley said he was glad he could help rescue his neighbors’ dog, Cece.
“That’s why we are here and take care of each other,” said Presley.
Fire fighters arrived shortly afterward to put out the flames. They also rescued a second dog, named Wesley. They gave him oxygen and took him to a vet for treatment. Neighbors told CBS 42 that Cece and Wesley are expected to be ok.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
