2 arrested in Alabaster for running illegal escort service

ALABASTER, Ala. (WIAT) — Alabaster Police Department have arrested two men on several charges, including human trafficking, in connection with a reported illegal escort service.

Jeffery Todd Langley, 52, and Sutton Stafford Burleigh, 35, both of Alabaster, were booked after being arrested on Thursday.

Langley was charged with 1 count of human trafficking 1st, human trafficking 2nd, unlawful possession of marijuana 2nd, and one count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Langley’s bond is set at $136,000.

Burleigh was charged with one count of human trafficking 2nd, his bond is set at $60,000.

“People who prey on our young people for financial gain will always be a top priority of this agency,” Chief Curtis Rigney wrote in the press release. “We are gonna do all we can to provide help and support for the victims of this horrible crime.”

Pelham Police, U.S. Marshals, and the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office assisted in the arrest.
