Two shootings within an hour being investigated by Birmingham Police

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — UPDATE: Byron Ulrick Pritchett, Jr., 21, of Birmingham, has been identified as the victim who showed up at 29th Court North, having been shot in the back. He was later pronounced dead at UAB Hospital.

ORIGINAL: Two shootings that happened within an hour of each other are under investigation, according to Lt. Edwards with the BPD.

Around 6 p.m. at 29th Court North, a black male showed up to the gate of an area housing project with a gunshot wound to the back. The man had no idea who shot him, and was transported to UAB Hospital. At this time there are no suspects.

Near 7 p.m on 152 Holley Ave, two people were injured during a shooting. One of the victims has life-threatening injuries, and no suspect is in custody. At this time, there is no more information available on the shooting.
