TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — UPDATE: A third suspect has been arrested in the Boardwalk of Brittain Landing. Joshua Marquese Coston, 18, was arrested in Clark County and taken into custody on Capital Murder charges.
UPDATE OCT. 7, 10AM: According to Lieutenant Kip Hart, Tuscaloosa Metro Homicide Unit investigators charged Delvin Roshawn Phillips, 20, and Freddie Laron Smith, 20, with Capital Murder in the shooting death of Terry Dawson, 26, on September 30 at Boardwalk at Brittain Landing Apartments.
Both suspects are from Camden, Ala. and were both acquainted with the victim. It is believed that their original plan was to rob him.
Phillips and Smith are being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail without bond.
ORIGINAL: Tuscaloosa Metro Homicide investigators are on the scene of a shooting at the Boardwalk at Brittain Landing Apartments. The shooting happened just before 5 a.m. Friday morning.
According to Chief Steve Anderson, one person was killed. Witnesses told police they heard several gun shots going off.
No word on a motive or possible suspects.
