TRUSSVILLE, Ala. (WIAT) — Hewitt undefeated this season at 6-0, and at this point, their offense is putting up basketball-like numbers.
The Huskies average 48 points a game, and even set a new school record this season with 78 points scored against Manatee, Fla.
According to their coach Josh Floyd, the key so far is balance.
”We don’t necessarily go into a game saying, ‘We’re going to run it this many times, or throw it’,” Floydd said. “ [We] just try to take what the defense gives us that week, but I think we’ve been fortunate to be pretty balanced in the pass game and the run game.”>
There is a big game coming up on Friday night against Bob Jones. The Huskies are playing in a new region this season.
One of the top dogs are the Patriots, who could be a big test for Hewitt-Trussville.
“There’s definitely areas of improvement we can still make, and we’re just trying to compete at a high level every single week no matter who we’re playing,” Floyd said. “At the end of the day, we’re playing a great team Friday, but it’s still about us trying to do our own job and trying to compete with our own selves.”
