Tuscaloosa Police seize thousands of dollars in raid on illegal gambling

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — Tuscaloosa Police conducted a raid last Saturday in which they seized evidence of book making, a computer, betting slips, spreadsheets and $6,481, according to a release from TPD.

Police responded to a call at the 2500 block of East Skyland Boulevard on a parking complaint to find several unattended vehicles parked in an empty lot behind the location.

Police entered a warehouse behind the place in which all the cars were parked, and discovered what appeared to be an illegal gambling operation. After getting consent to search the premises, TPD’s Code Enforcement Division seized evidence in the case.

TPD issued warrants for the arrests of Vincent Deon Reeves, 38, and Danny Charles Carter, 37, on charges of promoting gambling and unlawful possession of gambling records first degree.

Both men are out now on $2,000 bond.
