(WIAT) — A warning if you’ve bought tickets online to an event recently: You may want to check your tickets. A large ticket exchange website called ScoreBig is telling customers they are experiencing an “unexpected liquidity crisis forcing the company to cease operations and suspend ticket sales.”
There are a lot of upcoming concerts and big college football games. ScoreBig is one way to buy and sell tickets online. If you already bought tickets, they may not be valid or work because the ticket vendors are reportedly out hundreds of thousands of dollars. ScoreBig was reportedly not paying for all the tickets they were selling.
CBS 42 News spoke with the National Association of Ticket Brokers (NATB) and they say this is an absolute mess. They are trying to have the Better Business Bureau send out an alert warning people about buying from ScoreBig because the website is still up and running.
ScoreBig is telling customers affected that they need to work directly with the ticket seller to resolve issues and see if their tickets will be valid. ScoreBig released buyer information to the sellers, so they can get in contact with the people affected.
