17-year-old Sylacauga assault victim moved out of ICU

SYLACAUGA, Ala. (WIAT) — According to the mother of Brian Ogle, the 17-year-old Sylacauga student who was assaulted, her son has been moved out of the Intensive Care Unit and is now in a room.

“He’s still about the same,” Brandi Allen, Ogle’s mother, said.

Ogle was found bleeding from his head on Friday around 10 p.m. He was transported to the Coosa Valley Medical Center and later transported to UAB by helicopter.

Ogle’s mother told us that her son was pro-police and became a target for his views. A large group of students cornered him in a parking lot, causing skull fractures and internal bleeding.

There was another fight that broke out Monday at the high school, but no arrests have been made in either case, which are both still under investigation.
