Birmingham accepting donations for areas impacted by Hurricane Matthew

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The city of Birmingham wants to help the areas impacted by Hurricane Matthew.

Starting Tuesday, donations will be accepted at the Boutwell Auditorium. You can drop them off through Thursday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Items needed include bottled water, cleaning supplies, canned goods and batteries.

All of the donations will be distributed in Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas and the Caribbean.
