Auburn Tigers defeat Mississippi Bulldogs in Starkville, Pettway has career day

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WIAT) — The Auburn Tigers went out on the road to face the Mississippi State Bulldogs on their home turf.

Auburn Tigers took care of the Mississippi State Bulldogs with a 38-14 win in Starkville.

Kamryn Pettway’s three touchdowns in the first half were a big part of pushing the team to a 35-0 lead at the half from which their opponent never recovered.

Pettway set career highs for touchdowns with his three trips into the endzone, as well as with his 169 rushing yards and 39 carries.

Auburn’s defense held the Dawgs to 186 yards through the air and 103 yards on the ground, most of their offense coming after the half.

Carl Lawson had two out of Auburn’s three sacks on the day as the defense continued its trend of dominance.

The impressive Tigers defense kept Miss State’s opportunities to a minimum, while Sean White threw for 204 yards and his own touchdown.
