UPDATE: Alabama Department of Corrections officials say Jerry Hilburn was recaptured around 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 14th. According to a release from ADOC, Hilburn was found in Talladega County.
The release says a public tip led U.S. Marshals to an address in Lincoln. Hilburn was discovered hiding in a storage shed behind a resident’s home.
Hilburn was taken into custody after a short foot chase. He was taken to the Talladega County Jail before returning to ADOC custody.
Hilburn was serving a 20-year sentence on a 2013 drug possession conviction out of Mobile County. He will now face charges for the escape.
ATMORE, Ala. (WIAT) — J.O. Davis Correctional Center is searching for an inmate that escaped from their facility in Atmore, Ala. according to a press release from the prison.
Jerry Lynn Hilburn, 40, escaped from the center at around 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hilburn stands at 6’2″ and weighs 214 with brown eyes and brown hair cut close to his head. Hilburn also appears to have two tattoos on either side of his neck.
