TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — Two men are facing drug charges after a two month investigation ended in a synthetic marijuana drug bust.
The West Alabama Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant earlier Wednesday in the 200 block of E Hargrove Road in Tuscaloosa. Agents found 2000 packs each containing four grams of synthetic marijuana with a street value of $160,000. They also recovered $24,054 in cash.
Police say the two men arrested are of middle eastern descent. 55-year-old Naseer Al-Labani is charged with four counts of trafficking and distribution of a synthetic controlled substance. He is in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $1,620,000 bond. 32-year-old Mahfoodh Alawadi is charged with trafficking in synthetic controlled substance. His bond is set at $1.5 million.
