Alabaster woman receives new home from ministry group

Alabaster, AL – A group from several churches in Shelby County restores homes along Highway 11. They were called Highway 11 Ministries, but now they have expanded to cover all of Shelby County and changed their name to Jesus Works Ministry.

One project that they surveyed on Old Highway 31 turned out to be a little bigger than they expected. The team went to see how they could repair a damaged floor, but found a dilapidated home instead. After one year, the lady who lived in that home received a brand new house.

For more information on how you can volunteer with the Jesus Works Ministry or to pick up an application for assistance, call the First United Methodist Church of Alabaster at (205) 663-0509.
