ENSLEY, Ala. (WIAT) — UPDATE: The Birmingham Police Department has charged Joseph Cook, Jr., 18, with Capital Murder for the shooting death of Calvin Gunn.
Cook is being transferred to the Jefferson County Jail and will be held on no bond.
ORIGINAL: An Ensley community is on edge after a 64-year-old Army veteran was killed in front of his wife. Calvin Gunn was reportedly being robbed outside of his home on 41st Street on Saturday.
Gunn was shot and later died at the hospital. This all happened Saturday night when Gunn had just returned home with his wife.
Birmingham Police have released pictures of a person of interest.
People in the neighborhood are on edge saying this could have been anyone.
