BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The ongoing drought continues to be the big story, as we marked day number 25 of no rain officially in Birmingham, and that goes for most of Central Alabama too.
Tonight: More clear sky and quiet weather is expected. Temps will fall to the upper and mid 50s region wide.
Friday: A weak cold front is set to move in Friday morning, which will be dry and just reinforce the dry air we’ve had over the area. There is a very tiny chance of a shower or two in the NW, but those chances are slim. Look for high temperatures in the mid 80s, well above average. Clouds look to increase Friday night into Saturday morning. Lows will be a little warmer then, falling only to the low 60s.
This Weekend: Expect clouds on Saturday, but hardly a mention of any rainfall. Highs will be a little cooler because of the clouds. Expect top temps to be near 80. Sunday will be warmer with more sunshine. Highs will climb to the mid and low 80s.
A big warm up is headed our way next week. Early indications are, we could be flirting with record highs early next week.
