BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — A cold front is moving through Alabama this afternoon. Behind it is a large shield of showers in N. Mississippi, only about a hundred miles away. While some parts of NW Alabama may see a brief shower, most of that rain will dry up before it makes it into Central Alabama. So close, yet so far away.
Tonight: We continue with the dry weather tonight, with some clouds increasing. Friday night football games around the region should be comfortable, with temps in the mid 70s. Lows will fall to the low 60s by tomorrow morning.
Saturday and Sunday: We’ll see a few more clouds around for Saturday, with cooler temps after the front moves through. Highs will settle in the low 80s. More sunshine is expected for Sunday with highs a few degrees warmer. Still no rain is in the forecast.
The Week Ahead: What a mixed bag of weather we’ve got in store. The heat gets cranked up to start the week, with highs in the upper 80s and close to 90 for Monday-Wednesday. Then another front approaches. This one looks to have some moisture and cooler air behind it. The best chances of rain will be late Thursday and into Friday. Hopefully these chances stay in the forecast, but we’re still six days away.
