BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – Cloudy and dry for most of us this Saturday. But as of around 2 PM we had some very light rain showing up on the radar in the SW corner of Central Alabama. Most of this rain probably won’t make it to the ground because of very dry mid-level air. However, this is going to be the best shot of rain we see until late next week.
Tonight: Clouds will stick around tonight, keeping temperatures mild overnight. Lows will end up in the mid 60s by tomorrow morning, well above average for this time of year. There is a tiny chance of a shower tonight, but nothing substantial and almost everyone will stay dry.
Sunday: Temps will be just a bit warmer for the afternoon on Sunday with a little more sunshine. Highs will rise to the mid 80s under a partly cloudy sky.
The Week Ahead: Temperatures will soar into the upper 80s for the first half of the week. Temperatures may even flirt with record territory. No rain is expected as high pressure dominates the Deep South. Forecast models differ in the late week forecast. But, we are pretty confident at some point between Thursday-Saturday, a cold front will move through bringing rain chances and cooler air. We will pin down the timing of the rain as we get closer.
