Shop Save & Share kicking off October 19th

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The Junior League of Birmingham is teaming up with more than 500 retailers to give your wallet a little breathing room while giving back to local groups.

The 11th Annual Shop Save & Share event is kicking off October 19th before wrapping up October 30th. During the event, shoppers can get a discount at more than 550 participating retailers in the Birmingham area, including shops in Trussville, Mountain Brook, Vestavia Hills, Homewood, and more.

All of the proceeds from the sales of the Shop Save & Share cards goes directly to the Junior League of Birmingham and more than 30 community projects supported by the organization. That includes the Birmingham Public Library, Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Birmingham Children’s Theatre, Girls Inc. and plenty more.

Some of the participating shops include the Birmingham Zoo, Jack N’ Jill, Shoefly, and the McWane Center. The event also serves as a great way to kickoff the holiday shopping season.

To participate in Shop Save & Share, you will buy a card for $40 online that will be mailed to you before the event. The card comes with a retail shopping guide, including the retailer’s name, locations, descriptions, and exclusions to the 20% discount.

The Junior League of Birmingham will host a kickoff party on Wednesday, October 19th at The Summit in the alcove near Anthropologie at 6:00 p.m. The event features giveaways, live music, and some tasty treats from several of Birmingham’s best restaurants.
