BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — We’re in the kitchen for this week’s Mom Monday! I’m showing you how to make some healthy Halloween treats that won’t break the bank and with probably some stuff you can find in your own pantry.
The first treat we made are mummy pizzas. What you’ll need is some flatbread, tomato sauce, string cheese and black olives. You can use anything that you have, maybe even tortillas or English muffins, there a lot of options, just whatever you may have at home or something that is inexpensive at the grocery store. While our mummy pizzas were baking, I moved on to our mummy dogs.
First thing we did is roll out pizza dough and start cutting it into little strips. You put the mummy dogs in the oven for about 8 to 10 minutes, but be sure to follow the cooking times on your pizza dough instructions.
For our next easy and healthy treat, just grab some carrots and some celery and all you have to do is lay it out on your tray to make it look like a pumpkin.
Alright, the last treat that I have for you is super healthy and super easy. Just take a little by of celery and take an orange or a mandarins and peel it. Take a little piece of celery and stick it right in the top of your orange or mandarin and look you have a little pumpkin.
