TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — Winn-Dixie set out to make a few young football fans happy on Wednesday in Tuscaloosa, and they may have just accomplished just that.
The Alabama Crimson Tide and Winn-Dixie presented 100 tickets to the Alabama vs. Chattanooga game to children representing youth football leagues across Alabama. The event took place at the Mal Moore Athletic Complex.
Before the kids got their tickets, they got to watch a Crimson Tide full practice. Winn-Dixie Vice President Drew Elkins says it is a just a good thing to do for young people.
“We’re just excited to give 100 tickets away to kids across the state and their parents, and to be able to take part to see this football game,” Elkins said. “Many kids are not able to see a football game and this will be their first experience.”
Alabama takes on Chattanooga November 19.
