ELDRIDGE, Ala. (WIAT) — A Walker County family is urging everyone to keep an eye on their pets after one of their livestock was shot and killed.
The Kennedy Family says their 22-year-old donkey was shot and killed. Charity Kennedy says the donkey was her 8-year-old daughter’s best friend. She says they woke up Sunday to a call from her neighbor that one of their donkeys was dead. It wasn’t until they went to move her that they saw she had been shot twice.
They have no idea who did it or why and now they just want answers.
“If you know who did it, let us know the police are on it. I just want to know and I want my little girl to be told who shot her and why. We just want a reason, we just want a reason why. If she looked like a buck, at dark and you shot her and got scared, I mean I don’t know there are so many reasons,” Charity said.
Law enforcement is involved and apparently there have been other cases of this happening in Oakman.
The Kennedys just want the person involved to come forward and say they are sorry to 8-year-old Peyton.
