Man accused of setting fire to Toomer’s Corner set to be in court

AUBURN, Ala. (WIAT) — The man accused of setting a part of Toomer’s Corner on fire after the LSU game is set to be in court on Wednesday.

Jochen Wiest, 29, has been charged with Criminal Mischief, Desecration of a Venerable Object and Public Intoxication.

We have learned that Wiest, who is from Germany, was in Auburn on a work visa.
