ESPN College GameDay crews arrive in Tuscaloosa for Texas A&M vs. Alabama game

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — ESPN College GameDay crews have arrived in Tuscaloosa and are setting up and preparing for Saturday’s big match-up between the Crimson Tide and Texas A&M.

Judy Weiss is the Senior Operations Producer for ESPN College GameDay. She says there are 65 technicians and stagehands building the ESPN television set located on the Walk of Champions in front of Bryant Denny Stadium. Several large trucks arrived Wednesday night loaded with equipment.

Weiss says it is a major undertaking, but is fun to put together every week.

“And to be going to a school every single year, year in and year out, you know that team is a very special team. They have to be, because there is only 15 weeks of college football, and we go to the game of the week and year in and year out we are in Alabama to help Roll the Tide,” Weiss said.

ESPN College GameDay broadcasts 15 live sports shows every year from different college campuses around the country.
