Need for school bus drivers

TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — A Tuscaloosa County bus driver has resigned after being arrested Thursday.

According to the school system, the Kimberly Bigham, 39, was arrested for the misdemeanor offense of furnishing alcohol to a minor.

The woman posted $500 bond submitted her resignation Friday.

According to a deposition filed with the District Court of Tuscaloosa, Bigham threw several booze-fueled parties for a group of teenagers between May and August of this year.

The deposition goes on to say that deputies with the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office were tipped off by the mother of one of the teens who attended the parties, after she looked through her daughter’s phone and found Snap Chat messages exchanged with Bigham.

“It’s not like we have been posting all of us drinking at your house on Snap Chat or anything,” the deposition says the teen wrote to Bigham.

In another message, Bigham asks the teen to pay her back for the cigarettes and six pack she purchased for her.

The teen later told deputies that she and a group of her friends went to Bigham’s house several times, where Bigham served them alcohol and gave them cigarettes.

Bigham’s 16-year-old son, Tyler Bigham, died in a car accident in August.

Bigham told deputies that the teens visited her at her home to help her grieve, but the get-togethers took place months prior to Tyler’s death.

Another teen told investigators that Bigham offered alcohol to her 13-year-old daughter, and other children who were 12 years old.

Bigham told investigators that when the teens are at her home, they do not drink. She also said that she shares a Snap Chat account with her daughter, and that she believes her ex-husband and his current wife are making up stories in order to get custody of her children.
