BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — A great start to the weekend, weather-wise, is underway with tons of sunshine and comfortably cool temperatures. It will get chilly as the sun goes down tonight, with weather will stay dry for the rest of the weekend.
Tonight: Temperatures will drop quickly tonight once the sun goes down. Temps by 10 pm will fall to the mid 50s, and by Sunday morning will end up in the low 40s.
Sunday: With dry air in place, look for afternoon temps to rebound nicely, into the mid 70s for top temperatures. For everyone attending the race at Talladega, things are looking good. Temps will drop to the upper 40s by early Monday morning.
The Work Week Ahead: A warming trend will be felt as we start the work week. Temps will approach 80 in most spots during the afternoon. We’ll stay in the upper 70s after a weak cold front moves through on Tuesday. Another front approaches on Thursday, with a little bit of moisture with it. Rain chances will be very small, but there’s at least a chance for something. Temps won’t drop, staying in the upper 70s for highs and mid 50s for low through the rest of the week.
