Police arrest suspect in Saturday night fatal shooting

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — UPDATE OCT. 24, 2016: Birmingham police say a suspect has been arrested in the fatal Saturday night shooting.

Birmingham police identified the victim as 26-year-old Marquest Allen. The suspect, 27-year-old Frank Sealie, has been charged with murder for Allen’s death. Sealie is currently being held in the Jefferson County Jail without bond.

ORIGINAL: Birmingham police are investigating a Saturday night shooting death. Officers from the west precinct were called to the 2000 block of Avenue P around 11:04pm. When they arrived, they found the body of a black male in his 20’s lying on the ground.

Investigators say the victim was visiting the location, when he was shot. A person of interest is in custody.
