BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Birmingham is participating in the “Every Kid in a Park” program, which is aimed at getting kids to enjoy the country’s unique outdoor spaces.
President Barrack Obama started the initiative this year.
Fourth grade students and their families are granted free admission to more than 2,000 federal lands and national parks. Students will also have visits from park rangers, who will introduce them to careers and science opportunities.
