Car hit by train in North Birmingham, driver transported to Princeton Hospital

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — A motorist has been transported to Princeton Hospital after their car was hit by a train, according to Capt. Harrell with the Birmingham Fire Department.

The wreck occurred on 28th Avenue and 27th Street North, and the driver was trapped in his vehicle, but firefighters were able to get him out.

At this time there is no word on his injuries.
