Alabaster, AL (WIAT) — A group of students are already trying out their very own television gig. We went behind the scenes of a morning news program that is broadcast entirely by 3rd graders at Creekview Elementary School in Alabaster.

Every morning, students will give the weather forecast, report the ozone layers, remind students of the lunch menu and even tell a joke.

Every month, two anchors are chosen to be the news anchors for the school. Their teacher, Melissa Foster, says that her favorite part is watching them grow in confidence.

Some of the students are now planning to go into careers in the broadcasting field.
