BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Both the Rickey Smiley Morning Show and the Tom Joyner Morning Show were broadcasting live from the BJCC on Friday, getting fans ready for the Magic City Classic.
CBS42 spoke to some tailgaters gearing up for the big match-up between Alabama State and Alabama A&M, they say the weekend is much more than a game, it’s more of a family reunion.
“You can’t but help to come out to the Magic City Classic, you think you’re missing something if you don’t come, if you don’t come you’re going to be on the internet or calling what happened who was there so it’s just magic about the Magic City Classic,” said Freddie Jones.
Tailgaters also say the food is just as important as everything else during Classic Weekend.
“You’ll have you some ribs, you’ll have you some pork, even I go on back down with it, I might have me some pig feet and pig ears,” said Gary Birdsone.
There are some new policy changes this year at Legion Field, the most important is a clear bag policy. For more on what you are allowed to bring into the game and everything else you need to know for the Magic City Classic click here.
