BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — It’s 307 days until UAB football is back with a kickoff with Alabama A&M, but today is one of the biggest of his life.
Football coaches are notoriously busy on Saturdays in the fall, but thankfully for Clark, this season is a little different if only for one reason: he’s got a huge event to attend.
“Yeah, I’ve got my daughter getting married, my only daughter. That’s a big day, so she’s getting married in the only fall that I’ll probably be available,” Clark said.
Clark has been married to his wife Jennifer for a long time, so we asked him what his advice is to the almost newlyweds.
“I think for her, they met in a church retreat so I think they’re starting out on faith. And he’s a good young man, so that’s the question for all my players you know, what do you think about this guy? So for me to kind of give my stamp of approval, he’s a good one.”
Clark discussed much more than his daughter Katie’s impending nuptials–check out the full interview in the video above to hear his thoughts on wrapping up fall camp, DJ Law of Last Chance U, and even the election, which Clark is speaking out about on a local level. He says Amendment 14’s approval is incredibly important to UAB.
Congratulations from CBS42 to the newlyweds; we wish you both a lifetime of love and happiness!
