Alabama coach Nick Saban: LSU is ‘a real challenge game for us’

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — Nick Saban stepped up to the podium on Monday, Oct. 31 to address the media before the Crimson Tide takes on LSU.

Saban told the media the upcoming matchup is “a real challenge game for us.” He said they are all anxious to go to work today and get back at it.

Saban said offensive lineman Alphonse Taylor hasn’t been totally cleared for contact after sustaining a concussion in the game against Arkansas, but he will be at practice today to see what he can do.

When asked his advice to freshman QB Jalen Hurts going up against the LSU defense, Saban said all the players need to focus on what they need to do to execute. He emphasized it’s not a “trick-em type situation” and there’s “no magical potion,” but that it really comes down to going out there, executing and playing their best.

The press conference fell on Saban’s birthday (and Halloween). Saban laughed when asked if he’s gotten any really nice birthday gifts today: “Not really, I only got really one, and it was one of those things where you push the, the button and it says, ‘that’s bull****.’ So I don’t know if someone’s trying to tell me something or what.”

Alabama will travel to Baton Rouge to play against LSU at Tiger Stadium. Kickoff is 7 p.m. CT, and you can watch the game right here on CBS42.
