TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — A Tuscaloosa city councilor wants to take steps to keep neighborhoods safer. Councilman Kip Tyner is proposing a plan to keep police aware of large gatherings.
This follows a shooting at a house party in the Alberta community last Wednesday. Someone shot a killed a man.
Tyner wants to pass an ordinance requiring people to get a permit from the city when hosting large house parties.
“You know I am all for people inviting folks over to their house to have a good time,” Councilman Tyner said. “But 100 people is not a welcoming house party for a street, avenue or a neighborhood. People have got to be responsible.”
Tyner says he will discuss his proposed ordinance with the city council this week.
